Advice to minimise thefts from cars: Try not to leave property on display when you leave your carunattended. If possible, empty your glove box. If you use a windscreen mounted SatNav or TomTom, please wipe the mark left on the windscreen when you remove it. Just because it isn’t on yourwindscreen doesn’t mean a thief will not still break into your car to have a look around.

There is a new central non-emergency telephone number for contacting the police, namely: 101. If a matter is urgent, call 999.
