Refuse and recycling

  • Wheelie bins must be left at the front boundary of your property (not on the pavement) by 7am on the day of collection.  Rubbish and recycling is collected on alternate weeks for most households.  Click here to find out what day your rubbish and recycling is collected.
  • Put your food waste bin out for collection every week where it can be seen by the crews.  If you don’t have a food waste bin, you can order one online.
  • Place recycling loose inside the blue wheelie bin – do not put items in plastic bags.
  • If you have signed up for garden waste collection, it is collected fortnightly on the same day as your household waste.
  • Number your bins so they can be returned to your property.
  • You can report a missed recycling or rubbish collection online.  Should your collection be missed, it must be reported to the Council by 1pm the following day.  Missed collections reported by this time will be collected on the next working day.

Recycling Do’s and Don’ts

The Litter Action Group for Ealing Residents (LAGER Can) has published a useful document outlining what you should and shouldn’t do when recycling.
